Liberté, Égalité, Sécurité

Hey there,

the London Globalist has published a new article by Anna Neumann and myself titled “Liberté, Égalité, Sécurité: Europe’s Sovereignty Depends on French German Cooperation“.

You can read the article here.

We adopt a political economy approach to European security and argue that the erosion of the transatlantic order renders deeper European integration – particularly with regard to security and defence – with Franco-German leadership at its core.

Do you think Europe is ready to take this step? We would greatly appreciate your thoughts, comments, or criticism.

On a different note: Last week I had the pleasure of attending the inaugural Athene Academy seminar week – a gathering of young academics with an interest in liberal ideas, held at a castle near Cologne. If that sounds like your kind of thing, keep an eye on their website for their next events. And if you are curious what I am currently reading, you can now follow me on Goodreads.

Kind regards,

Carlo
